Some highway maintenance companies in northern Ontario have been fined by the Ministry of Transportation for substandard service.
One of the companies is Carillion Canada Inc. for Thunder Bay East who is the same company who looks after provincial highways in the Muskoka and Parry Sound area as well.
The amount of the fines can’t be revealed because it’s a contract issue.
Meanwhile closer to home, McDougall Mayor Dale Robinson tweeted yesterday that McDougall Public Works has taken over the maintenance of Nobel Road from MTO contractor.
Robinson also says the hiking trail is also being plowed.
