Heavy snowfall in Muskoka has led to some community event cancellations

The heavy snowfall is expected to continue this afternoon and possibly into tonight.

Due to the bad weather, there are a number of cancellations of community meetings and sporting practices and events.

Here is a list of what’s cancelled:

Bracebridge: 

• 2250 Muskoka Pioneers Cadets Christmas Mess Dinner at the Bracebridge Legion, an alternate date will be announced soon
• Kettleball this afternoon at the Bracebridge Sportsplex
• Bracebridge Salvation Army
• Monck Public School Primary Holiday Concert will be rescheduled to tomorrow at 6:30pm
• Bracebridge School of Ballet has cancelled all classes tonight
• Bracebridge Knight Hawks badminton is cancelled
• Bracebridge Skating Club all programs cancelled
• Canadian Mental Health Association, Muskoka-Parry Sound Branch has closed its offices in both Muskoka and Parry Sound today at 2:30 pm due to weather conditions. • The Bracebridge Public Library will be closing at 5:00pm
• Vegan Cooking Class cancelled tonight at Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Bracebridge
• Third Bracebridge Sparks meeting cancelled
• V.O.N. Seniors Exercise Classes cancelled today all across Muskoka
• Muskoka Family Focus after school programs cancelled for this afternoon
• Muskoka Dance Connection classes cancelled
• Cub Scouts meeting at the Bracebridge Rotary Youth Centre is cancelled

Huntsville 

• Diners Club Luncheon at Active Living Centre (will run again next Wednesday)
• The Huntsville Library will be closing at 4:30pm today. Users don’t need to worry about picking up holds or returning books, as holds will be extended and fees will be waived
• Transit Junior High at Faith Baptist Church in Huntsville
• All activities at the Canada Summit Centre and the facility will be closed after 4:30pm
• Muskoka Heritage Place and Muskoka Museum are closed
• Air Cadet Huntsville meeting tonight is cancelled
• Air Cadet Huntsville meeting tonight – cancelled
• Home Depot Women’s Workshop in Huntsville – rescheduled for next Wednesday
• Motivations closes at 4:00pm today Zumba and yoga are cancelled
• Huntsville transit is cancelled
• Dokan karate is cancelled
• Bid Euchre at the Active Living Centre cancelled today
• Huntsville Rotary Club – Annual Christmas auction and celebration postponed to next Wednesday, December 21st
• Creative Community Muskoka’s art gathering scheduled for 5:30pm at Independent Grocer in Huntsville is cancelled due to deteriorating weather conditions
• Huntsville Circle Dancing is cancelled tonight
• Huntsville Curling Club mixed curling is cancelled tonight
• Huntsville Beer Store closing at 6:00pm tonight
• Faith Baptist church, all activities are cancelled tonight
• Muskoka Dance Company – All classes cancelled
• YMCA of Simcoe Muskoka – Employment and Learning Services is now closed
• Huntsville Transit has been cancelled for the rest of the day
• Huntsville LCBO closing at 6:00pm
• Canadian Tire Huntsville closing at 5:00pm
• The Door has cancelled tonight’s Christmas Party due to road and weather conditions. Rescheduled for next Wednesday, December 21st.

• GPS Basketball Tournament
• St. Dom’s Food Drive
• Emsdale Agricultural Society – Wednesday night Bingo is cancelled, the next one will be in January.
• Community turkey dinner in Baysville tonight has been rescheduled for tomorrow night
• Youth basketball in Gravenhurst in cancelled
• Macaulay Treehouse Daycare has cancelled all after school programs at Monck, Macaulay and V.K. Greer
• Georgian Bay College: Muskoka and Midland campuses will close at 4:30pm. The Owen Sound Campus will close at 5:00pm.
• Township of Parry municipal offices are now closed
• Georgian College campuses in Muskoka and Midland will be closed at 4:30pm today
• Gravenhurst Rotary TV Bingo cancelled
• Dorset Recreation Centre closing at 5:00pm
• All classes offered at the Gravenhurst YMCA have been cancelled for this evening
• South Muskoka Minor Hockey has cancelled all practices in Gravenhurst tonight
• Gravenhurst Public Library will be closing at 5:00pm
• Port Carling Skating Club has cancelled all activities for this evening
• Gravenhurst Public Library closing early tonight
