West Muskoka Food Bank turns dollars into dinners

Those who use the West Muskoka Food Bank are now able to get home cooked meals. A Port Carling woman is creating a new initiative called Dollars for Dinners. A team of volunteers get together every week to create freezer crockpot meals for the food bank.

Founder Susan Nairn says it’s about having access to a home cooked dinner, made with fresh meat and veggies.

Nairn says they are donating 14 crockpots to help finish off the meal as well. So far, Dollars for Dinners has raised almost $7,000, but Nairn says donations and volunteers are still needed.

You can email Susan at [email protected] to help volunteer, or go to the Dollars for Dinners GoFundMe page.
