Dorset is celebrating their fundraising accomplishments this weekend. Since 2013, the Dorset Community Group has been working tirelessly to raise funds for a proposed nurse practitioner station and were successful in getting over $24,000.
In addition, residents also raised over $16,000 for their new park and pavilion, which will break ground tomorrow. A community celebration is taking place in partnership with the SS Bigwin. Our MP Tony Clement and Lake of Bays Mayor Bob Young will be making a special announcement.
It all starts at 11am at the town docks with the launch of the 2014 season for the Bigwin. There will be boat rides, music and a free community barbecue. The ground breaking ceremony of the new park and pavilion will follow at the old school property and Clement’s announcement will happen at 1pm.Â
