The Rotary Club of Bracebridge has selected one of its own as the Citizen of the Year in Bracebridge.
On Friday, member Jean Polak was presented with this special award as only the second Rotarian to receive it in 30 years.
Officials say Polak has been a member for 23 years and has had many commendable accomplishments in the community.
This includes being a founding member of the YWCA Muskoka, becoming a member of the Chief Justice of Ontario’s Advisory Committee on Professionalism and becoming a member of the Legal Aid Muskoka area committee.
In response to the award, Polak says her parents played a large role in teaching her about giving back to the community.
