If you’re not keen on travelling on Highway 400 on weekends, Metrolinx GO train service has you covered.
To kick off the New Year, the service will run year-round on weekends from Allandale GO Station in Barrie to Union Station in Toronto.
There will be three morning trips to Toronto and three evening trips back to Barrie every weekend starting on December 31st.
The Ontario Government hopes this will help ease some of the traffic congestion that takes hold of the 400 during the weekends.
Officials say this will help provide better commuter service to families in Simcoe Region.
