The OPP in Muskoka wants you to drive sober, and that includes drugs.

Constable Tim Negus says people don’t realize drunk driving, and driving while high are equally dangerous. Negus says drivers who get drug-impaired charges have the same penalties as those who are charged with alcohol-impaired driving.

He is also reminding people to stop carefully when they get to a R.I.D.E. check. Negus says he wants to keep officers safe. Remember, police are on the roads, so keep your vehicle a safe distance away from them.

The OPP is working on reducing impaired driving this holiday season.
