District releases proposed tax increases on water, sewage and solid waste services

The District of Muskoka staff have released their recommendations on tax increases for water and sewage and solid waste services.
Across the board all Muskokans on water and sewage would see an increase of about 2.3 per cent, which translates to just under four dollars for a typical $200,000 home.
Solid waste tax increases are a different story, with each municipality seeing their own change based on services provided.
Bracebridge would see an increase of 2.5 per cent or $2.52, Gravenhurst would be 2.8 per cent or $2.30, Huntsville would be 3.2 per cent or $3.04, Georgian Bay would be 3.4 per cent or $3.48 and Muskoka Lakes would be 3 per cent or $1.30.
Lake of Bays is the only community seeing a decrease of about 1.6 per cent or $1.60.
District council will meet on December 19th to discuss and vote on this proposed budget.
