NSM LHIN puts 10 more beds into the Simcoe Muskoka region for palliative care

The North Simcoe Muskoka Local Health Integration Network has provided more access to palliative care services in the Simcoe Muskoka region.
In October, the board approved the recommendation to send 10 beds to the region.
The number of beds available in the North Simcoe Muskoka region is now at 31 with five of them at Algonquin Grace in Huntsville.
NSM LHIN CEO Jill Tettmann says this was an important initiative that the organization has been working towards for a while.
She says these residential hospices play a very important role in providing end-of-life care services in the region.
