The Special Investigations Unit is charging a Parry Sound OPP officer with assault causing bodily harm. The charges stem from a June 2016 arrest. Police were called to a home on Albert Street to arrest a man, at which point an altercation between the officer and the accused broke out. The man required medical treatment for an injury sustained in that incident.
The officer will be appearing in court next month to answer to the charges.
