Miller: Province needs to balance its budget, and bring down the cost of Hydro

The province is starting its budget process for 2017, and Norm Miller is weighing in on what might benefit Muskoka. The MPP for Parry Sound-Muskoka says it’s been nine years since Ontario has seen a balanced budget, and that should be addressed. He says as a fiscal conservative, he believes the province shouldn’t be living beyond its means.

He also notes the biggest issue he hears around the riding is the high cost of electricity, and that should be on the government’s agenda. He says that’s true for both families and businesses, and a lot of those high costs are coming from the delivery charges.

Ontario’s budget watchdog has recently raised red flags about the possibility of a balanced budget this year, saying the province is in for several more years of deficits, unless costs are cut or more revenue is found.
