Port Syndey/Utterson and Area Chamber president running for council

Huntsville has a second name in the running for Stisted, Stephenson and Port Sydney Wards. Gordon Haig is the president of the Port Syndey/Utterson and Area Chamber of Commerce.

Haig has been involved in the community for the past 10 years through the chamber. Haig says their community halls will be a major focus should he be elected to council.

Local business is important to the Huntsville economy. Haig says, as a business owner, he would like to focus on increasing our local economy.

Haig says he believes he has the knowledge and history to be councillor, having lived in this community for over three decades. Haig says he’s running because he simply loves his community.

Councillor Det Schumacher is also running for the same wards. The municipal election happens October 27th.
