Bracebridge Council aiming to reduce development charges

Bracebridge councilors are sending a clear message about the need to reduce development charges. This week the Town’s General Committee voted to reduce existing development charges by 25 percent for residential development projects and move commercial/industrial institutional rates to 0$ per square foot. It’s aimed at stimulating Bracebridge’s economy. Council feels the existing charges have not been effective and they want to make the statement that Bracebridge is open for business. The bold move is expected to be ratified next week.
