Muskoka Family Focus looks to bring more services to parents in Muskoka

Muskoka Family Focus and Children’s Place wants to know what services are of benefit to families in Muskoka and what it can improve on.
The organization recently received a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, which will help undertake this survey.
Parent Education Supervisor Carol Corriveau-Truchon says the organization wants to find the gaps in services currently offered.
That Peer Mentoring program is still in the very early planning stages, but could offer new parents an opportunity to gather experience from more experienced families in the community.
Corriveau-Truchon says before they take on this project, they just want to see if there are any other program ideas out there that might be of benefit to families in Muskoka as well.
Parry Sound Muskoka MPP Norm Miller was on hand during the survey announcement on November 10th to present a plaque to the organization on behalf of the OTF.
Miller says the $24,000 grant will work towards supporting families in Muskoka that may need some help and guidance.
If you’re interested in taking the survey you can find it here.
