The Huntsville OPP is investigating a fatal vehicle fire, which happened on Chaffey Street on Saturday night. Police were called just after midnight to find an older model van was fully engulfed in flames. Once they were able to put the fire out, they found a body inside.
The Ontario Fire Marshall along with the OPP Forensic Identification Unit are now looking into the how that fire was started.
No details about the deceased are being released. Police say the Chief Coroner is investigating the cause of death, and the victim’s next of kin still has to be notified.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have information on the fire is asked to call the OPP at 705-789-5551.
