Muskoka Pride hosts Trans Day of Remembrance in Bracebridge this weekend

Since 2008, there have been nearly 3,000 deaths of transgender people reported.
This from Muskoka Pride as the organization is preparing to remember these deaths as part of the Trans Day of Remembrance.
Officials say on top of this, almost 300 people who were trans and gender-diverse were reportedly murdered across the globe in the last year.
Filmmaker Michelle Emerson will be screening her project ‘Transgender Life in Slovania’ and hosting a question and answer session afterwards.
Emerson says it’s important to accept and respect the uniqueness of others.
The event will be held at the Bracebridge United Church at 6:00pm on Sunday and anyone interested is invited to attend.
