BMLSS has played host to a very special athletic tournament.
On Wednesday, 11 teams from across the region including Barrie and Gravenhurst, came together for the Special Olympics Ontario High School Regional Basketball Championships.
Organizer and teacher Julia McCreadie says the three on three tournament had a record number of teams participating this year.
She says the athletes that participated demonstrated an amazing effort.
The athletes were welcomed to the court by a cheer tunnel made up of student volunteers.
McCreadie says they couldn’t have pulled it together without help from Special Olympics Ontario and the basketball officials.
