The YWCA Muskoka has announced the recipients of the 2016 Women of Distinction Awards.

Last week, the organization held the awards gala at the Mark O’Meara Grandview in Huntsville.

The nationally-recognized prestigious award is given to women that are making a difference in Muskoka.

Twelve women were nominated this year and seven of them were selected as recipients.

Here are the winners and their categories:

  • Brenda Rhodes, Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship
  • Michelle Ainsworth, Community Development and Social Activism
  • Jill Dunford, Health, Sports and Wellness
  • Alison Brownlee, Mentorship
  • Arleigh Luckett, Lifetime Achievement
