Health officials look to the province to help with dental care for low-income residents

Haliburton’s health unit wants the province to make dental care more accessible to low-income adults and seniors.
The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit is encouraging you to sign a petition, calling on the government to expand publicly-funded dental assistance programs.
This would help low-income adults and seniors have access to oral care, as most publicly funded programs are restricted to youth under 18-years-old.
According to the health unit, the government has promised to expand dental coverage by 2025, although the petition will ask that it be done within two years.
