Gravenhurst council approves early concept for Muskoka Regional Centre

The Town of Gravenhurst has taken the first very early steps in finding a developer to take over the Muskoka Regional Centre.
On Tuesday evening, council met to discuss the suggestion from town staff that Maple Leaf Educational Systems be approved as a potential partner to take over the building.
Mayor Paisley Donaldson says the concept from MLES was approved.
Donaldson says this project would be completely self-funded by MLES through capital funds and tier one financial groups.
Moving forward, CAO Glen Davies will work with MLES to negotiate the final concept of the proposed boarding school.
The town and MLES will then meet with Infrastructure Ontario which currently owns the property.
Donaldson says MLES has committed to engaging with both council and residents of the town to keep everyone informed on details about the proposal.
