The people of Huntsville have been visited by a famous musician without ever knowing it.
Earlier this week, Tragically Hip Lead Singer Gord Downie travelled to the Algonquin Theatre in Huntsville to rehearse for his upcoming show in Ottawa for his Secret Path project.
Theatre Manager Matt Huddlestone says it was an amazing experience to be able to host the iconic Canadian singer.
Huddlestone says he was contacted when Downie and his band were looking for a place to rehearse before the Ottawa concert on Tuesday and he jumped at the chance.
He says Downie and his band came on Sunday and left Monday to travel to Ottawa and the secret never slipped to the public during this time.
Secret Path is a multimedia project comprised of a new solo album by Downie, a graphic novel and a film and is dedicated to Chanie Wenjack who died while running away from a residential school 50 years ago.
