Residents in Muskoka are being asked to focus on the challenges girls face in their everyday lives.
Today, it’s International Day of the Girl.
Events Coordinator Kelly Cole says in Canada women experience higher rates of depression, sexual harassment and dating violence.
Cole says girls have a long way to go to achieve equal opportunities.
The Day of the Girl is about highlighting, celebrating, discussing, and advancing girls lives.
