Operation Impact targets distracted drivers and lack of seatbelts this long weekend

OPP in Muskoka will be taking part in a national road safety campaign during the Thanksgiving long weekend.
Operation Impact will see officers targeting aggressive and distracted drivers, those who don’t wear their seatbelts properly, and those who drink and drive.
Constable Phillip Regamey has also issued a reminder for all drivers.
The OPP says over 1,500 people died on OPP-patrolled roads between 2011 and 2015.
In that time, there were 321 deaths related to alcohol or drugs, 336 from speeding, 408 from inattentive driving, and 335 from not wearing seat belts.
