Huntsville commemorates D-Day Saturday

It’s the 70th anniversary of D-Day and Huntsville will commemorate. The anniversary ceremony is happening at the Royal Canadian Legion cenotaph, 21 Veterans Way, at 11am tomorrow. On this day in 1944, Canadian soldiers started a 10-week battle in Normandy, France. Our troops made it furthest inland. At the end of the battle, the Allied forces won the Battle of Normandy. 340 Canadian soldiers lost their lives and another 574 were wounded. Huntsville joins other communities across Canada in commemorating.
