Muskoka Community Foundation selects six students to receive environmental education award

The Muskoka Community Foundation has selected six students from Parry Sound and Muskoka to receive the Stan Darling Environmental Education Fund.
The grant was funded by 10th anniversary of the Tony Clement Charity Golf Classic, which ran earlier in the summer.
Each of the six students received a portion of the $13,800 grant given out this year.
Stan Darling was a former MP for Parry Sound Muskoka and played a crucial role in the Acid Rain Treaty with the US in 1991.
Students are selected for this grant in recognition of their contributions to a better and sustainable environment.
These students will be pursuing post-secondary education with a focus on environmental studies.
Here is a list of the recipients:

  • Kelsey Lang, Huntsville High School
  • Katherine Biernes, Parry Sound High School
  • Kameron Kirbyson, St. Dominic Catholic High School
  • Rebecca Jackson, Bracebridge Muskoka Lakes Secondary School
  • Jennah McIntyre, Almaguin Highlands Secondary School
