Bracebridge OPP reminding drivers to be cautious as kids head back to school

It’s time for the kids to head back to school today and that means it’s time for you to be more aware of your surroundings while driving.
Bracebridge OPP is reminding drivers, kids are going to be out and about in droves, either walking, biking or on the bus.
Constable Samantha Bigley says the rules haven’t changed, if the bus lights are on you need to stop.
If you’re caught passing a bus with its lights activated, you’re facing up to a $2,000 fine for being a first-time offender, six demerit points and possible jail time.
Keep in mind with the new crossing laws, you must wait until a school crossing guard has reached the sidewalk before driving.
