Bracebridge officials welcome new student physicians to Muskoka

The Town of Bracebridge is hoping to invest in the future of medicine in Muskoka by welcoming some future physicians to the region.
On Wednesday, eight students from the Northern Ontario School of Medicine were treated to some fun as a welcome to the region as they finish up their program.
Bracebridge Deputy Mayor Rick Maloney says there has been a lot of positive response in the past to these welcome events.
Students were treated to a scavenger hunt to get a feel for Bracebridge and its historical roots as well as some of the local sights.
Mayor and council members then officially welcomed the students with a special barbecue at Kerr Park.
The students will spend the next few months in Bracebridge and Huntsville training with local doctors.
