Car fire leads to impaired driving charges in Muskoka Lakes

Bracebridge OPP have laid impaired driving charges following a car fire on Brackenrig Road in Muskoka Lakes.
On Monday night, police, Muskoka Lakes Fire and EMS were called to the fire just off of Highway 118 West.
The vehicle had fallen into a ditch and was completely engulfed in flames.
The driver, a 23-year-old woman from Muskoka Lakes, had managed to escape the vehicle before it caught fire.
She refused help from paramedics and police arrested her for impaired driving.
Police are looking for witnesses involved in reporting the driver earlier and helping her out of the vehicle on scene.

The driver will appear in court in Bracebridge on September 27th.
