Muskoka officials not mailing out assistance cheques

The District of Muskoka is preparing for the worst as tensions continues between Canada Post and its unionized workers.
District officials have stated the office will not be mailing out cheques in the face of an impending postal disruption.
Social assistance cheques will be available at district offices in Bracebridge, Huntsville and Gravenhurst.
Drug eligibility cards, which are usually mailed out as well, remain valid until September 30th.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers gave a 24-hour job action notice Sunday night, which would see workers refusing overtime.
Only provinces and territories in Western Canada will be affected to start off with according to reports.
