Bracebridge unable to take advantage of Enabled Accessibility Fund

The Town of Bracebridge was not in a position to take advantage of the federally-provided Enabled Accessibility Fund this year.
This from the Director of Planning and Development, who says in a report to the Mayor and council, there were no planned projects that would have qualified for the fund.
Cheryl Kelley reports there was discussion on upgrading the washroom at Kirby’s Beach, however the plans have not yet been developed.
The deadline for all applications was July 26th and the call was only announced a month in advance.
The fund provides 65 per cent of costs, a maximum of $50,000, for eligible accessibility projects.
Bracebridge was provided over $40,000 in 2014 through the fund to complete accessibility upgrades to the Municipal Office.
The fund has been active since 2009.
