EFTO recognizes Watt PS teacher with Environmental Education Award

The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario is recognizing one of its own for environmental education.
The federation presented the 2016 Environmental Education Award to Watt Public School teacher Kim Small.
Small created a Kinder Garden in an unused portion of the school yard with a grant from the government.
She has also set up a Learning Meadow at the school and has run a Forest School program for the last four years with parents and students invovled.
EFTO President Sam Hammond says her leadership has been pivotal in transforming the school yard into an environmentally educational area for students.
The EFTO represents over 78,000 teachers and educational professionals in Ontario.
