Town of Huntsville Offering Cooling Stations

The Town of Huntsville is offering cooling stations to help residents beat the heat.

Town staff says if you are looking to cool down, there are several areas available. People can visit the Canada Summit Centre and head to the ice rink where the walking track is located. The Algonquin Theatre is also available as well as the Huntsville Public Library.

With today’s temperature expected to reach near 40 degrees, Environment Canada reminds people to check on neighbours, friends and older family members, especially those who are chronically ill, to make sure that they are cool and hydrated.

Also, police are asking to never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle or in direct sunlight.
