Gravenhurst town officials are suggesting taking a dip to beat the extreme heat this week.

With temperatures expected to hit the low 40s today and tomorrow, officials say there are plenty of beaches to take advantage of.

This includes Gull Lake Rotary Park Beach, Muskoka Beach Park and even the Splash Pad on Muskoka Wharf.

All beaches and the pad are open from dawn until dusk.

There are also cooling centres set up at the public library and the YMCA in Gravenhurst as well if you don’t feel like getting wet.

Environment Canada predicts we should see an end to this recent heat wave this weekend.
