Fire officials have released an update on a brush fire that set a cottage up in flames in Bala on Tuesday afternoon.
The fire started from a campfire in the area that had been used on Sunday.
Damage is estimated to cost around $500,000 for the cottage and about $200,000 for the items inside.
While fighting this particular fire, embers managed to travel across the road and further, causing a few spot fires in the area that needed to be put out.
Officials say this is a prime example of the dangers of these dry conditions and the reason for the fire ban.
Muskoka Lakes fire officials are taking a zero tolerance stance against any offenders of the fire ban.
