MAHST kicks off with positive comments from local officials in Muskoka

The North Simcoe Muskoka Local Health Integrated Network has officially kicked off its newest initiative to change how healthcare is offered in Muskoka and surrounding areas.
During a meeting at McVittie Place in Bracebridge, Board Chair Bob Morton commented on the newly created Muskoka and Area Health System Transformation council.
Morton says this new council provides an opportunity for Muskoka to let the LHIN know exactly what is needed in terms of healthcare services in the area.
During the meeting other local officials had an opportunity to comment on this new council.
Bracebrige Mayor Graydon Smith and Huntsville Mayor Scott Aitchison, who have both had strong ties to healthcare reform in Muskoka in the past, both gave their approval on this new idea.
NSM LHIN is expected to announce the members selected for the council and attached committees in August.
