Officials with the Seventh-Day Adventist Church are helping families in need get their kids ready to go back to school.
The church is offering free school items to families that may not be able to afford such luxuries for their children.
Items include pencils, markers, erasers and even new brand new backpacks.
Marion Stanley with the church says all school supplies are purchased through donations made by church members.
Stanley says this is the sixth year they’ve run this donation project and she is always pleased to find the kids always only take what they need and never anything more.
She says they used to give these donations directly to the schools, but found this was a better option to offer the kids exactly what they need for school.
