Almaguin Highlands does well at OFSAA Regional Track and Field championships

Results are in for Almaguin Highlands OFSAA Regional Track and Field championships. The day two event was held in Toronto yesterday. Claudia Schlosser had a personal best time to place third in the junior girls’ 300 meter hurdles. Andy Coleman had a 3 meter personal best throw on his final attempt to place third in the midget boys’ javelin. Hudson Booth broke the three minute barrier in his first place finish in the 800 meter ambulatory race with a time of 2:59 minutes. Plus, Aiden Anger placed first in the midget boys’ pole vault with a jump of 2.45 meters. Over the two day event, as a team, Almaguin placed 16th out of the 100 schools competing and will send six athletes to compete next week at the OFSAA Provincial Championships in Mississauga.
