Clement Ready to take on Conservative Leadership

Parry Sound-Muskoka’s MP believes he’s ready to take on the federal Conservative leadership.

Last night, Parry Sound-Muskoka MP Tony Clement announced his candidacy for the leadership of the federal Conservative party in Mississauga.

Clement says hearing many people encouraging him to run for the leadership, made the idea not just a flight of fancy in his own head.

This is the second time he’s run for the party’s leadership after losing to former Prime Minister Stephen Harper in 2003.

He believes having 10 years of experience in a variety of portfolios will give him a better advantage this time.

The new leader will be voted in on May 27th of next year.
