Following another hot and dry week, Muskoka was hit by a big thunderstorm to kick off the weekend.
That storm ended up knocking out power to over 15,000 homes by the end of the night in the Muskoka region alone.
The major areas hit were Bala, Magnetawan, Burks Falls and Utterson.
Hydro One reported about 30,000 homes in all were affected across Southern Ontario from that one storm.

By Saturday morning, about 10,000 homes were still out in Muskoka and by Sunday afternoon, that number had been shaved down to just a few hundred in small pockets across the region.
Huntsville was also hit with an unexplained outage Saturday night when most of the town went down between 11:00pm and 3:00am.
