Almaguin Highlands OPP Hands Out Over 100 Charges during Canada Day Weekend

Impaired driving and boating was an issue to police over the weekend.

Almaguin Highlands OPP says during the Canada Day long weekend, police gave out tickets for failure to wear a seatbelt, suspended driving, impaired and drug-related offenses.

On the water, police patrolled Doe Lake, Lake Bernard, Sand Lake and Eagle Lake where charges were given for towing without a spotter, small vessel regulations and impaired boating.

During the weekend, officers also held just over 30 hours of R.I.D.E. and checked close to 460 vehicles.
