Gravenhurst Council not happy with new policing costs
The town of Gravenhurst is sending a letter to the Premier of Ontario to voice their disapproval over policing costs. At a recent town meeting, Gravenhurst councillor Lola Bratty voiced her concerns over the issue saying taxpayers will have to pay hundreds of dollars more each year if policing costs rise by 70 percent.
Bratty says the province is proposing a flawed business model .Gravenhurst will prepare a resolution in support of the District. After that, it’s up to the district to negotiate the contract with the OPP.
