The Township of Lake of Bays has elected its newest council member.
During its special meeting today, council elected Michael Peppard as the councillor for Sinclair-Finlayson. He received four of the six votes from councillors to replace Ginny Burgess who resigned in April.
Peppard says he will begin work this weekend by attending lake association meetings. He then expects to sit down with the former councillor.
Peppard moved here five years ago from Toronto and the first thing he did to meet people in the community was volunteering.
