Huntsville Mayor Doesn’t Expect to Support Move to Gain District Votes

Huntsville Mayor Scott Aitchison doesn’t believe his council will support Bob Young and his petition to gain more district votes.

Last week, the Lake of Bays Mayor received support from his council to seek an extra two votes for the township and Georgian Bay at the district level. Young is expected to speak to municipalities in Muskoka, looking for support on the issue.

This is something Aitchison feels won’t happen in Huntsville.

Currently, municipalities have 12 votes and townships have 10.

There’s no word yet on when Young is expected to have these discussions with Bracebridge, Gravenhurst and Huntsville.
