The Township of Lake of Bays has decided to hold off on selling its only remaining piece of land on Bigwin Island.
During the regular council meeting earlier this week, staff discussed the potential sale of the 1.8-acre piece of land located on the south side of the island. It was resolved to postpone any decisions until a parkland review is done in 2017.
Lake of Bays Mayor Bob Young believes there is no use for the town to keep the section of the island and would rather have sold it now.
The review will determine if the area is worth selling or improving.
