Many events planned for Canada Day in Bracebridge

The Town of Bracebridge is gearing up for a big celebration this Canada Day weekend.

On July 1st, the town will be partnering with the Bracebridge BIA, Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club to kick off a major event.

Administrative Coordinator for the BIA Tracy Larkman says there is a lot planned for the afternoon events.

There will also be a large backyard BBQ with picnic tables set up along the main street and a few local restaurants involved in serving family-friendly food.

The Chamber of Commerce will also have some fun down at Kelvin Grove Park with the band Cabin Fever playing at 6:00pm.

Finally the Rotary Club will take over that evening with a beer tent cardboard boat race, duck derby, music and more.

The rotary club will once again handle the fan-favourite fireworks at dusk as well, with a suggested donation of $20 per family.

The fireworks cost just over $20,000 annually and are put together through donations from local businesses and the public.

This year’s premiere sponsor for the fireworks is Norstar Exterior.

Events for the day will kick off at 11:00am and for details on all the events and volunteer opportunities you can visit the Bracebridge Fireworks website.
