The Huntsville/Lake of Bays Chamber of Commerce will not be leasing the CN Station.
The Town of Huntsville announced the lease of the building to the chamber at last month’s regular council meeting. After further inspection, the chamber cited poor air quality as a reason for not entering into the agreement.
Huntsville Mayor Scott Aitchison says the building is now closed until a plan is put in place.
The CN Station was built in 1924 and purchased by the town in 2003. Aitchison says there could be a report brought to council with solutions at July’s meeting.
