Fire Chief Steve Hernen is proud of how his team handled the number of fires in the area.
On Thursday last week, the Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Department dealt with a structure fire, a train car which was engulfed and several grass fires. Hernen says he is also proud of the neighbouring departments that stepped up during the busy day.
He says all municipalities took the right steps in making sure fires were contained, especially in these dry conditions.Â
