The Gravenhurst Opera House is kicking off its summer season with a memorial charity gala.
On May 27th, residents are invited to take in ‘A Taste of Gravenhurst’ with food prepared by local chefs.
The gala will be raising money for Meagan’s Walk.
Manager of Arts and Culture for the town Krista Storey says Meagan Bebenek was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor at a very young age and passed away when she was five.
She says the walk was created in her memory and helps raise awareness and funds for pediatric brain tumor research.
Entertainment will kick off at 8:00pm with actress and comedian Sheila McCarthy hosting the evening.
There will be performances from Marc Jordan, Russell deCarle, Kenny Munshaw, the Johnny Max Band and the Gravenhurst Children’s Choir.
