The MNRF says two men are facing a total of $5,000 in fines for illegally shooting a bull moose.
Officials say last October, officers observed multiple vehicles parked along Browns Brae Road east of Baysville. After entering a bush lot, the officers found several hunters in the process of removing a large bull moose from private land.
The one man from Baysville was fined $2,500 for hunting without a license, $250 for unlawfully using another person’s license and $1,000 for misleading an officer.
Another man, also from Baysville was fined $1,000 for misleading statements to an officer. He received a one-year suspension from hunting big game.
