The national census is on its way to households this month and municipal officials in Muskoka are reminding residents of the importance of taking it seriously.

Mayor Graydon Smith recently pointed out how the census can help provide necessary funding for municipal services and community organizations.

While on the street in Bracebridge, Moose FM found many residents were able to see the benefits of properly completing the census.

CBC recently reported that the StatsCan website was temporarily down due to the amount of people trying to take the census online.

All Canadian residents are legally obligated to complete the census.
